I bought this ultraslim portable drive last week. Using my computer 20 hours a day at work it´s loaded with important stuff that you can´t afford to loose. I decided that I need a back up, better late than never I suppose.. Looking around I found that The iomega portable hard drive was the best buy. Iomega eGo 160GB sells for little over a 100 bucks and is USB-powered and easy to use. The hard drive is both compact and stylish, fits perfectly in the lap top case. The iomega is really durable and well built to stand heavy strain, comes with the patented dropchock system. To put it in short, I´m really happy with my newly bought Iomega ego portable hard drive and wouldn´t hesitate to recommend it to others!
Belkin has come up with a simple and pretty cheap security solution for laptops. An alarm that´s plugged into the laptop´s USB port. It comes with a cable that is wrapped to something secure. If the cable is cut or unplugged from the USB port tha alarm is activated and starts making noise. The alarm system is turned on and off with a small key.
Belkin USB laptop security alarm is sold for $30 at internet stores.
Girls like it big? Well guys like it small.. at least when it comes to electronic gadgets. I've been searching the internet to find a small computer that has the same capacity as regular desktops and can run processor/memory intensive OS like Windows XP. Sure there are very small computers out there that like the Picotux. It is indeed very small 53mm x 48mm, runs uClinux but it's capacity is only good for very few specific applications.
Then I found Fujitsu Siemens Tablet convertitble notebook FMV-U8240. It is ultralight and the weight is only 580 gram and thickness of only 26,5mm. FMV-U8240 is built with Intels Ultra mobile platform 2007 and is a very small UMPC that can run Windows XP or Vista. The processor is a Intel A110 800Mhz and it can be bought with 512MB - 1GB of DDR2 SDRAM.

Has anybody missed the cool new ultra light laptop from Asus?
It is called Asus Eee PC and comes in 4 different models. The laptop is portable and is very light due to the fact that S.S.D (Solid State Disk) is used instead of regular laptop disks. The best of all is the price! They call it the $200 computer, but in reality it costs a bit more (not much more though). The model out in stores now is the Eee PC 4G. It has 7" screen, Linux Os, Ethernet and WLAN, 512MB RAM (DDR), 4GB S.S.D., HD audio and microphone, batteries that holds 3,5h. The other 3 models will be launched during November. I can't wait to get hold on one! Read more at asus.com
