Epson Stylus DX4850 printer

With a weight of just under seven kilograms, modest exterior and a low price is the Epson Stylus DX4850 intended to function as a simple copier and allroundprinter for both photos and regular documents, perhaps primarily for home office. However, there is all the features one might wish of a multifunctionprinter, except possibly access to networks and fax.

Photo printing can be done directly from digital camera via Pictbridge or via memory card. The card reader also works as a reader to the computer. A simple program to edit photos before printing is included. Default for print, however, is a bunch of simple choice, which unfortunately is not very smart. By default "text" gives you far too low resolution and 300 dots per inch gives Epson Stylus DX4850 bad prints. On the whole textdocuments is not the printer's strong suit. In the mixed documents with colorelements, or if you manually select colormode, gives it a much better quality. Text is then in place a little too heavy, but still clearly better. As the photo printer Epson Stylus DX4850 is in a higher class. With a good paper and optimized settings DX4850 prints images with not much to complain about, given the printer's low price. The colors are strong and realistic. Souce: IDG.
