News (Reuters, NYT): US sales of game consoles jumped over 50% in November, mostly because of the boost in sales for Nintendo WII game console. Nintendo WII stayed on the top of the game console list with 981.000 units sold, followed by Microsoft's XBox 360 (770.000 units) and Sony's PS3 (466.000 units). Sony PS3 is still lagging behind, mostly because of its high price and lack of games to the console. Sony's PS3 sales quadrupeled in November, because of the price cut and new games arriving. Nintendo also beat Sony on the handheld consoles, Nintendo DS sold 1.53 million while Sony PSP only sold 567.000 units. Call of Duty 4 is the best selling console game, with 2.01 million copies sold for XBox 360 and PS3. Guitar Hero 3 was the second most sold game with 1.9 million copies.
