Harman Kardon GO+Play is yet another set of speakers for your Ipod. It has excellent audio quality and you can control your speakers and the docked in Ipod with a remote controller. You can bring the Harman Kardon GO+Play to the beach if you put in some batteries. The price for these speakers are pretty high, but if you want good quality speakers, then Harman Kardon Go and play is solid choice. 

Netgear is trying to compete in a market already full of media streamers, for example Popcorn Hour A-100, D-Link DSM-510, Archos TV, Linksys KISS and Logitech Squeezebox. Netgear EVA8000 is a decent player, you can stream your favourite video on your TV in HD quality. Netgear EVA8000 has great software for finding and organizing your media files in a convenient media library. You can use EVA8000 to directly stream Youtube videos on your TV. EVA8000 has support for PC, MAC, Linux and with other USB units.

The competition is fierce when it comes to mediastreamers, to mention a couple Archos TV, Linksys KISS, Logitech Squeezebox. Iomega ScreenPlay PRO 750GB is much like these players and support many media file types MP3, WMA, DivX, Mpeg and Xvid. One important exception is that Iomega ScreenPlay does not have built in WiFi support and that is definitely something Iomega should have inlcluded. WiFi support is becoming standard in every mediastreamer nowadays. Iomega makes excellent external HDs, they have put the money in what they do best and included a 750GB disk (which is not bad).

Archos TV 250GB WIFI is a great media player much like Popcorn Hour and D-Link DSM-510 HD, but with the added video recording functionality. Archos TV comes with 80-250GB hard drive and that is sufficient to record many hours of video. It has excellent WiFi capabilities and is ideal as a media center for your home. Archos is targeting the high end consumers with Archos TV 250 and this player delivers quality.  

Logitech Squeezebox Duet is a audiostreamer like Pinnacle SoundBridge but is very expensive. With Logitech Squeezebox Duet you can listen to thousands of webradio channels and use online service like Pandora and Rhapsody. With a remote control, 2.4 inch display and avanced 24-bit DAC, Logitech is trying to make a statement. But is Logitech Squeezebox Duet impressive?

Pinnacle SoundBridge HomeMusic is a wireless mediastreamer, a simple solution to play your favourite music from your PC or MAC. Pinnacle SoundBridge HomeMusic has support for MP3 and WMA and can also play audio directly from an SD. It has support for WEP encryption and DRM protected media. SoundBridge is compatible with Itunes and is ideal for Internetradio listening. Pinnacle SoundBridge HomeMusic is not as solid solution like Lacie Silverscreen or Popcorn Hour A, but a cheap good solution if you are interested in just streaming audio.

Cowon iRiver Clix 4GB media player is a better version of the predecessor the multi award winning Iriver U10. With iRiver Clix you can listen to music, watch photos or movies and listen to FM radio. Iriver Clix has better processor and more memory than U10, but similar black design. Clix has sharp display with 262K colors, 4GB memory, high end FM radio and can play 25 hours without recharging the batteries. 

Nowadays many media players are wireless, but if you want to play it old school or you don't have access to a wireless network, then Lacie Silverscreen III 500GB is a fine media player with USB 2.0 connectivity. Lacie Silverscreen III can play many movie formats like MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4 (XviD, DivX 3.11, DivX 4, DivX 5, DivX 6), DVD-Video and play audio files like AC3, WMA, MP3, Ogg Vorbis, WAV. Lacie Silverscreen III has built in 500GB and that is sufficient to store many media files, even for hardcore downloaders. Lacie Silverscreen III has video-out for scart, s-video, composit and audio-out for Stereo RCA and digital optics.

Linksys KISS DP-1600 DVD player has everything you could wish for in on single box. KISS DP-1600 is a DVD player that can play all kinds of media formats, has wireless connection and can play HD quality movies directly on your TV. With Kiss DP-1600 you can get news directly from Reuters, listen to 3000 different radiostations and play some online games. The radiostation browser is definitely a good thing and you can easily spend hours browsing around different channels. News and game functionality is poor, so you could do without.
