I´ve got to spill some bad energy folks.. Had a bad day with a lot of stress and body aches from a tough flu that never seems to get out of my system. Looking out the window only to see the boring winter with the below zero climate and the everlasting darkness. I´m not kidding you guys but in my home town you´ll be happy to see three hours of daylight at this time of year.
The winter really wears you down and I´m seriously starting to question why we even try enjoy our lives up here in the north. Friends and family all say that the winter makes you enjoy summer even more and it gives you something to dream about. F-ck that! It can´t be right to have six to eight months per year when life is shit just to enjoy those 3 months of summer. And what a summer it is. Last year you were glad to see the temperature reach over the 18 degrees centigrades mark and rain never seemed to stop falling. I´m wondering if it´s something wrong with me or if it´s my friends and family that´s been brainwashed when trying to create a meaning out of this misery. A way to survive of cause but the fact is that we have a whole world out there where the sun really is shining and where it´s OK to go out with shorts and a t-shirt. You can actually enjoy life all around the year. It´s possible!! Instead we´re walking around like some kind of michelin men trying to fake a happy smile. We talk to each other and lie to our selves saying that today was a really warm and nice day when we for the first time in two months see the sun and it comes with above zero temperatures. Wow! Great guys!! Am I the only one thinking this is crazy? I need some guidance here.. Pleas let me know if there´s somebody else out there that agrees with me.
The thing is... I´ve studied our history. The only reason to why we as humans moved up north in the first place was the lack of food and the high competivity on the hunting scene. A cople of thousand years ago we were driven to find new land where we could feed ourselves and stay away from troubles and conflicts with the next door group of people. A good thing for sure! It gave us a better and more harmonious existence and we probably wouldn´t have survived as a species otherwise. But nowadays things have changed, haven´t they? I can´t see that we´re still hang around here for the same reason. Time has changed from those barbarian days. It all seems strange to me and I really have a hard time excepting this as the only correct way to live. I´d love to hear your point of view. Please comment!!
