Paul Thomas's "There will be blood" is a movie about greed, religion, family and oil and takes place in the turn of the century, the early days of business were prospectors saw bright opportunities. Daniel Day Lewis plays the leading role as another Daniel (Plainview) and he just recently won 2008 Screen Actors Guild Awards for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role.

Daniel Day Lewis has so far had a long and successful carreer, he has been less active in recent years but you could see him in "Gangs of New York" (2002) and "The Ballad of Jack and Rose" (2005). His big success and breakthrough came back in the late 80's in the movie "My left foot" (1989) and he got an Oscar for the role playing Christy Brown a handicaped boy that could only use his left foot. Daniel Day Lewis is a great diversified actor and he always delivers solid performances. He can play an aristocrat in a movie like "The Age of Innocence" as well as a savage in "The Last of the Mohicans". There are not many actors that have won 2 Oscars in their lifetime, but Daniel is definititely a good candidate to become one of them.
